È morto a 50 anni Taylor Hawkins, il batterista dei Foo Fighters per 25 dei 28 anni di attività della band. È successo un'ora prima di un concerto a Bogotà.
Sono stati i Foo Fighters ad annunciare l'accaduto su Twitter. La band, attualmente in tour in Sud America, si è detta «distrutta per la tragica, prematura scomparsa del nostro amato Taylor Hawkins».
Al momento non si conoscono le cause della morte: Taylor è stato ritrovato senza vita in una stanza d'albergo a Bogotà, in Colombia, poco prima di apparire in concerto al Festival Estéreo Picnic. Il musicista lascia la moglie e tre figli.
Tutto il mondo della musica si è stretto attorno alla band e a Dave Grohl, che rivive in queste ore l'incubo della morte di un amico e compagno di vita, come era stato Kurt Cobain. Ozzy Osbourne ha definito Taylor Hawkins come «una persona eccezionale e un musicista incredibile», Tom Morello (chitarrista dei Rage Against The Machine) ha ricordato il «potere rock inarrestabile» del batterista.
