I fan dei Doors hanno di che gioire. Dagli archivi della trasgressiva band di Jim Morrison, infatti, è emerso un singolo mai rilasciato fino ad oggi.

Si intitola Paris Blues e, apparentemente, sarebbe l'ultima incisione in studio rimasta inedita del gruppo. Nel comunicato che ha accompagnato la pubblicazione del singolo, infatti, si legge: "Paris Blues ha viaggiato lungo un percorso molto tortuoso prima di venire alla luce, portando con sé le qualità mitiche che avvicinano i fan ai Doors. Un blues originale, scritto dal gruppo e inciso durante le loro ultime sessioni d'incisione, tra THE SOFT PARADE ed L.A. WOMAN (nessuno sembra ricordarsene".

La storia del brano

Quanto appena affermato lascia pensare che Paris Blues sia stata concepita tra il 1968 e la fine del 1970. Ciò nonostante, per essere pubblicata, la traccia ha dovuto raggiungere i giorni nostri. Il comunicato, infatti, continua spiegando: "I master della canzone vennero persi e l'unica copia sopravvissuta fu consegnata ai Doors. Purtroppo, quest'ultima è stata danneggiata nel tempo. Oggi, grazie ad un lavoro di editing leggero, Paris Blues ha avuto modo di essere salvata dall'oblio per entrare a far parte del nuovo album omonimo".

Il disco è un'edizione limitata dalla vocazione blues e assume i tratti di una compilation. PARIS BLUES uscirà il 25 novembre prossimo. Il set uscirà in vinile blue trasparente con una copertina che riprende un quadro originale di Robby Krieger. Insieme alla traccia in questione, l'album contiene due incisioni live di Krieger e Morrison che eseguono I Will Never Be Untrue, brano scritto per MORRISON HOTEL, ma mai inserito nell'LP e una cover di Me And The Devil Blues di Robert Johnson.
